Mrs. Myrtle Haga Bennett, a loving mother and grandmother age 101, of Fries Va, passed away Saturday, December 25, 2010 at Waddell Nursing Home in Galax, Virginia.

Mrs. Bennett was born September 21, 1909 in Smyth County, Va. to the late Ira and Kate Haga.

Mrs. Bennett was a long time member of Fries United Methodist Church. She loved to have visits from her family, friends and neighbors.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Thomas E. Bennett.

Mrs. Bennett is survived by two sons Fred Bennett (Patsy) of Advance,N.C.
and Edgar Bennett of Hamilton, Montana; 8 grand-children,16 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren.
Also surviving to cherish her memory is her sister Arcie Haga,nephew & wife Clifton & Mildred Haga, and niece Doris Lee Mottesheard all of Fries, and several other nephews and nieces.
The family wants to express gratitude for the kindness and loving care of the
Staff at Waddell Nursing Home.

The funeral service will be held on Thursday,Dec. 30,2010 at 2:00 PM in the
Vaughn-Guynn Chapel,Galax,VA.

Burial will follow in the Monta Vista Cemetery.

There will be no visitation at the funeral home.
