At 4:15 AM on October 13, 2011, the soul of Myra Jeanne Reeves Willard returned to its Creator, and will rest in peace in the Fries Cemetery until the return of Jesus Christ her Lord and Savior.
She was born in Wythe County, Virginia on August 13, 1935 to William "Bill" E. Reeves and Myrtle E. Sawyers Reeves. In additon to her parents she was preceded in death by a sister Bertie Lee Patton,
and a grandson Scottie Joe Willard.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Kathryn "Kathy" Ellis Reeves-Harrison and Ron of Stallings, North Carolina; son and daughter-in-law Ricky Joe Willard and Charlotte of Fries, Virginia; two grandchildren April Bourne of Galax, Virginia and Richard Willard of Ivanhoe, Virginia; eight great-grandchildren; two step grandsons Shane Boyer and Jared Padgett; sisters and brother-in-law Edna Stata formerly of Fries, Virginia; Hallie Simcox of Low Gap, North Carolina; Betty Jo Creed of Independence, Virginia; Barbara Ann Mayes of Roanoke, Virginia; Linda and Raymond Byrd of Danville, Virginia; brother and sister-in-law William David Reeves and Linda of Fries, Virginia; brother-in-law Harry Patton of Galax, Virginia; several nieces, nephews, grand and great-grand nieces and nephews; a special niece Phyllis Harrison of Akron, Ohio; special friends Mary Kay Vaughan of Fries, Virginia; Peggy Moore of Danville, Virginia.
A long time resident of Fries, Virginia, Myra Jeanne was a member of the 1955 Fries High School graduating class. In her later years she resided at Roman Eagle Memorial Home in Danville, Virginia where she served as a member of the Resident Counsel.
She loved and was loved.
The funeral service will be held Saturday, October 15, 2011 at 2:00 PM in the Fries Baptist Church with Rev. John Williams officiating. Burial will follow in the Fries Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 1:30 PM until time for the service at the Fries Baptist Church.
