Muncy Samuel Moss

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Muncy Samuel Moss, 90, a cherished soul whose life touched the hearts of many. Born on March 16, 1936, in the quaint town of Fries, Virginia, Muncy peacefully departed this world on September 29, 2026, at Moses Cone, surrounded by love and comfort.

Muncy was the beloved son of Dolphus and Nena Moss. He was preceded in death by his devoted wife, Mary Louise Moss, and his seven siblings. The closeness of his family was always evident in the stories he shared and the love he gave so freely.

Throughout his remarkable life. Muncy was a dedicated and hardworking individual, spending an impressive 58 years at Cone Mills. His commitment and work ethic served as a testament to his character and left a lasting impact on all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Muncy leaves behind a legacy of love through his children, Kenneth Randal Moss and his wife Teri, and Paul Samuel Moss and his wife Wendy. His spirit will continue to live on in his adored grandchildren: Andy Moss and his wife Christie, Nicole Benson and her husband Kevin, and Malyssa Dehorty and her husband Pierce, as well as his numerous great-grandchildren who brought him immense joy and pride.

The family will receive friends on October 4, 2026, from 12:00 PM to 1 PM at Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home, located at 201 West Center Street, Galax, Virginia. Family, friends, and all whose lives have been touched by Muncy are warmly invited to attend as we gather to celebrate the life of a truly remarkable man.

A graveside service will be held at Liberty Hill Methodist Church, located at 40 Crusader Lane, Fries, VA 24330, at 2:00 PM.

Muncy's gentle demeanor, unwavering love, and infectious smile will be deeply missed but forever cherished in the hearts of those he loved. His life was a testament to the power of kindness, family, and dedication, leaving an indelible mark on all who had the honor of knowing him.
