Mozelle Dowling age 87 of Fries, Virginia passed away Wednesday, November 21, 2018 in the Grayson Nursing and Rehab Center.

Mrs. Dowling was born in Carroll County, Virginia on September 11, 1931 to Heath and Mary Valentine Bond Newman. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Howard Dowling and a daughter Wanda Haynes Hill.

She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law Linda Haynes Pickett and Robert of Ivanhoe, Virginia; two step-children and spouse Clifton Dowling; Freda Bond and Larry; four grandchildren Paul Pickett; Stephanie Brewer; Daniel Pickett and Darren Hill; eleven great-grandchildren; two sisters and spouse Winifred Jefferson; Goldie Sutherland and Pete; sister-in-law Jane Newman; several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Friday, November 23, 2018 at 2:00 PM in the Liberty Hill United Methodist Church in Fries, Virginia with the Rev. Lee Thomas and Martha Luper officiating. Burial will follow in the Providence Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday from 1:00 PM until time for the funeral service at the Liberty Hill United Methodist Church or at the home of Linda and Robert Pickett, 205 Red Oak Lane, Ivanhoe, Virginia anytime. In lieu of flowers the family respectfully request donations be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
