Mildred Mooney Hinshaw, 91, of Galax, Virginia passed away on Wednesday, May 2, 2018 at Waddell Nursing and Rehab Center. Mrs. Hinshaw was born in Carroll County on June 13, 1926 to Lee and Maude Mooney. She was a devoted member of Cranberry Christian Church and a long time employee of Sears in Alexandria, Virginia.

"Miss Millie", as she was affectionately known, was preceded in death by her husband, Robie Cecil Hinshaw and an infant daughter, Mary Ann. She is survived by one son, Larry L. (Helen) Hinshaw of Clemmons, North Carolina, three grandchildren Heather (Ken) Blewes of Macungie, Pa., Matthew (Sarah) Hinshaw of Agawam, Mass., and Christian (Maureen) Hinshaw of Longmeadow, Mass.. Also survivors include a nephew Ronald (Linda) Vaught, a very special niece, devoted friend and a caregiver, Lib (Gary) Russell and beloved great-nephew Jared Russell of Woodlawn, Va.  She has five great-grandchildren Cameron Blewes, Haley and Marybeth Hinshaw, and Edward (Teddy) and Liam Hinshaw.

The funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday in the chapel of Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home conducted by the Rev. Eddie Stanley assisted by the Rev. Bill Wright. Burial will be private in the Anderson Cemetery.
