Mildred Lorene Hawks Hackler age 86 of Fries, Virginia passed away Tuesday, May 26, 2015 in the Lewis-Gale Medical Center in Salem, Virginia.
Mrs. Hackler was born on December 25, 1928 in Grayson County, Va.to Ernest M. and Bertha Funk Hawks. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband John H. Hackler.
She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law Nickie Lynn Hackler of Kamiah, Idaho; Karen and Ralph E. Jones of Fries, Virginia; Patricia and Nickey Handy of Galax, Virginia; sister Elizabeth Williams of Greensboro, North Carolina; brothers and sister-in-law Daniel and Bobbie Hawks of Draper, Virginia; Ernest Hawks, Jr. of Galax, Virginia; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held Sunday, May 31, 2015 at 2:00 PM in the Stevens Creek United Methodist Church with Pastor Bobbie Dunford officiating. Burial will follow in the Stevens Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday from 1:00 PM until time for the funeral service at the Stevens Creek United Methodist Church.
