Michael Wayne West age 67 of Galax, Virginia passed away Wednesday night at his home.

Michael was born in Harford County, Maryland on June 9, 1953 to Alvin Lee and Dorothy Polly Honaker West.

He proudly served his country in the US Army.

In addition to his mother Dorothy West of West Jefferson, North Carolina he is survived by his daughters and son-in-law April and Steve Hodge of Galax, Virginia; Cindy Hash of Independence, Virginia;  fiancé Elisa Carlan; sisters and brother-in-law Dianne Cassett of Galax, Virginia; Ella and Larry Richardson of West Jefferson, North Carolina; brothers and sisters-in-law Alvin and Margit West; Roscoe and Robin West both of Independence, Virginia; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held Sunday at 2:00 PM at Grouse Hollow Lane. There will be no visitation at the funeral home.
