Brother Michael Stuart Cockerham, Age 60, of Elkin, NC, died Saturday, Oct. 16, 2010 in the Forsyth Medical Center, Winston Salem, NC.

Brother Cockerham was born March 11, 1950 in Pulaski County, Virginia to Stuart and Doris Denny Cockerham.

He is survived by his wife, Wilma Jean Cockerham, Elkin, NC, sons & daughter-in-law, Alan Cockerham and Josh Cockerham of Elkin, NC, Ryan & Anita Cockerham, Woodlawn, VA, sisters & brother-in-law, Jeanie & J.D. Brewer, Winston Salem, NC and Tamara Robinson, Galax, VA, brother & sister-in-law, Dennis & Gayle Cockerham, Lynchburg, VA, father-in-law, Lester Cozzens, Manassas, VA, sisters & brothers-in-law, Rebecca & Robert Bryce, Mannassas, VA, Kathie & David Smith, Manassas, VA, brother-in-law & spouse, Roy & Shirley Collins, Parkersburg, West Virginia, grandson, Michael Cockerham, granddaughter, Emma Cockerham, niece, Amy Lynn Cockerham and preceded in death by his sons, Brent William, Bryan Ray and Aaron Michael, parents, Stuart & Doris Cockerham and mother-in-law, Helen Cozzens.

The funeral service will be held Tuesday, Oct. 19, 2010 at 2:00 PM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel, Galax, VA with burial to follow in the Meadow Creek Cemetery, Grayson County, VA. Officiating ministers will be Brother Ricky Cothren and Brother Winfred Davis. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Monday at the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home. The family will be at the home of Ryan and Anita Cockerham, 595 Millstone Road, Woodlawn, VA.
