Melodey Sue Carico (Cole) Collins age 79 of Fries, Virginia passed away Thursday, August 14, 2025 at her home.

Sue was born on November 1, 1945 in Galax, Virginia to Ben and Viola Vernon Carico. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Cliff Collins and a son Kerry Cole.

She is survived by her sons and daughter-in-law Timmy and Lisa Cole of Hillsville, Virginia; Robert Gale Cole of Hagerstown, Maryland; sisters and brother-in-law Twila Billings of Galax, Virginia; Lynn and Jimmy Baldwin of King, North Carolina; brother Jerry Carico of Galax, Virginia; four grandchildren Brittany Koble (Zack); Christopher Cole (Kristina); Joshua Cole (Helen); Mark Cole; eight great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held on Sunday at 3:00 PM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Pastor Jeff Pickett officiating. Burial will follow in the Stevens Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday from 2:00 PM until time for the service at the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
