Melissa Ann Blankenship age 51 of Fries, Virginia passed away Monday, June 15, 2026 in the North Carolina Baptist Hospital.
Melissa was born on October 9, 1974 in La Plata, Maryland to William and Gloria Mattingly Bolt.
In addition to her parents William and Gloria Mattingly Bolt of Willis, Virginia, Melissa is survived by her husband Chad Blankenship of Fries, Virginia; daughters Makayla Simpkins (Hunter Pollard) of Elk Creek, Virginia; Erika Blankenship (Devin Martin) of Fries, Virginia; step-daughter Skye Blankenship; grandchildren Lakota Pollard; Hayden Pollard; Ryder Blankenship; Silas Malone; Killian Adams and Kirie Blankenship; brother and sister-in-law William and Lisa Bolt, Jr. of Floyd, Virginia; special sister and husband Jennifer and Brad Barker; one niece Laila Bolt.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday at 4:00 PM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel. There will be no visitation at the funeral home.
