Maxine Dillon Morris age 85 of Galax, Virginia passed away Thursday morning in the Commonwealth Assisted Living in Hillsville, Virginia.

Mrs. Morris was born on November 18, 1931 in Grayson County, Virginia to William and Lillie Ann Patton Dillon. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Ronald Jay Morris.

She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law Karen and John Jeffery of Jefferson, Maryland; Pam and Bob Steele of Charlotte, North Carolina; Trudi and Tommy Jackson of Galax, Virginia; son and daughter-in-law Randy and Khris Morris of Willis, Virginia; grandchildren Paul Baker; Cory Patton; Peter Jeffery; Sean Jeffery; Cole Morris; Kayelin Hylton; great-grandchildren Charlie Baker; Ian Jeffery; Duncan Jeffery; sister Betty Robinson of Coalport, Pennsylvania; brothers and sisters-in-law Robert and Evon Dillon; Roger and Shirley Dillon all of Galax, Virginia; Carroll and Debbie Dillon Gray, Tennessee; several nieces and nephews; special brother and sister in Christ James and Billie Ford.

The funeral service will be held Saturday, July 8, 2017 at 2:00 PM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Pastor Randy Watts and Pastor Barry Miller officiating. Burial will follow in the Monta Vista Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 12 noon until time for the funeral service at the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to the Medi Home Health and Hospice, 319 North Washington Avenue, Pulaski, Virginia 24301.
