Maxine Savannah Cox age 65 of Galax, Virginia passed away Tuesday, April 10, 2012 in the Golden Living-Blue Ridge Health & Rehab Center.
Maxine was born in Galax, Virginia on March 5, 1947 to McKinley and Blanche Willis Blair.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Andre and Kimberly Cox of Galax, Virginia; step-mother Orville Maxwell of Galax, Virginia; grandchildren Adell Cox, Julian Cox and Harley Holden; nieces Gloria Joan Sharp, Vanessa Brooks, Ann Maxwell, Rustin Bladen Daughtery; sister-in-law Alaska Roulhac; brother-in-law Curtis Cox; and best friend Helen Beamer Howard.
The funeral service will be held Saturday, April 14, 2012 at 2:00 PM in the Mt. Zion Holiness Church with Evangelist JoAnn Cox officiating. Burial will follow in the Oldtown Cemetery. The body will lie-in-state one hour prior the funeral service. The family will receive friends Friday from 7:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
