Maude Higgins Smith's Obituary
Maude Higgins Smith age 86 of Galax, Virginia passed away Sunday, March 13, 2011 in the Westwood Hills Nursing and Rehab Center in North Wilkesboro, North Carolina.
Mrs. Smith was born on August 21, 1924 in Galax, Virginia to Glen Thomas and Edna Pearl Burris Higgins. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a sister Mildred V. Taylor.
She is survived by her husband Harold C. Smith of Galax, Virginia; son and daughter-in-law Gary Gene and Betty Smith of North Wilkesboro, North Carolina; grandchildren Gary Gene Smith II and Jennifer Renee Johnson; great-grandchildren Johnathan Smith; Zachary Smith; Jordan Johnson; Nicholas Johnson and Tate Johnson; sister Alma Sue Mawyer of Galax, Virginia.
The funeral service will be held Thursday, March 17, 2011 at 2:00 PM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Pastor Sam Bartlett officiating. Burial will follow in the Monta Vista Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday from one until service time at Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
