Mattie Sue Coleman, 78, of Galax passed away Thursday in the Twin County Regional Hospital, Galax, VA. Sue was born June 25, 1935 in Grayson County, Virginia. She was preceded in death by her husband, Franklin Coleman, mother Marie Alden and sister Sharon Trimble.

She is survived by four daughters and one son-in-law: Terri Rittwage, Joan Burcham, Jean Alley, Cathy & Greg Fields all of Galax; sisters and brothers-in-law: Norma & Daniel McCarley of Alabama; Claudette and Charlie Flack of Maryland; brother & sister-in-law: Marvin & Betty Winesett of Rural Hall, North Carolina. Nine (9) grandchildren; eleven (11) great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and special friends also survive.

The funeral service will be held Sunday, September 15, 2013 at 2:00 PM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Minister Randall Cox and Junior Bullion officiating. Interment will follow in the Beech Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 7 until 9 PM
at the funeral home.
