Mattie Lee Bryson age 79 of Galax, Virginia passed away Saturday, March 21, 2009 in Twin County Regional Hospital. Mrs. Bryson was born in Baltimore, Maryland on September 1, 1929. She is survived by her children Teresa Neely Brown of Galax, Va.; Diane Bryson of Harrisburg, Pa. and Rex Bryson of Tacoma, Washington; sisters Stella Brown & Margaret Brown both of Galax, Va.; Melba Peoples of Winston-Salem, N.C.; brothers Odell Bryson of Galax, Va.; Henry Bryson of Kentucky; Richard Bryson of Jacksonville, Florida and James Bryson of Virginia Beach, Va.; nine grandchildren; twenty-eight great-grandchildren and several nieces & nephews. The funeral service will be held Friday,March 27, 2009 at 2:00 pm in Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Pastor Ethelene Bryan and Pastor Sue Greene officiating. Burial will follow in Glades Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday from one until two pm at Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
