Mary N. Tidline age 105 of Galax, Virginia passed away Sunday, March 17, 2013 in the Waddell Nursing Home.

Mrs. Tidline was born in Crumpler, North Carolina on January 17, 1908.

She was married to Mr. Samuel K. Tidline and they had one son John Neal. They made their home in the Old Town Community.

Sister Mary was converted at an early age and joined St. John's Baptist Church in Bristol, North Carolina. She later joined the Old Town Baptist Church, Galax, Virginia and served as a Mother of the Church, choir member and missionary. She was a good friend to everyone.

Both her husband and her son preceded her in death. She is survived by six grandchildren; host of great-grandchildren; one daughter-in-law, host of nieces and nephews and one special cousin also survives.

She was also preceded in death by her beloved cat Buster.

The funeral service will be held Thursday, March 21, 2013 at 1:00 PM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Rev. Larry Cutler officiating. Burial will follow in the Oldtown Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday from 12:00 Noon until time for the funeral service at Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
