Mary Ruth Jones age 65 of Fries, Virginia passed away Sunday, March 1,2009 in Roanoke Memorial Hospital. Mary Ruth was born in Grayson County, Va. on August 26,1943 to Preston & Katie May Parks Akers. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Estill H. Jones. She is survived by her sons T. Scottie Jones & David Jones both of Fries, Va.; sister & brother-in-law Nora Ellen "Snooky" & Joe Frost of Galax, Va.; brother Larry Lee Akers of Spotsylvania, Va.; grandchildren Tabitha Jones & Andrew Jones; nephew Allen Frost and special friend Betty Price. The funeral service will be Wednesday, March 4,2009 at 2:00 pm in Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Rev. Jerry Anders & Rev. Matt Linkous officiating. Burial will follow in Monta Vista Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from seven until nine at Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
