Mary Davis Morris age 84 of Galax, Virginia passed away Thursday, October 13, 2011 in the Waddell Nursing Home.

Mrs. Morris was born on November 1, 1926 in Grayson County, Virginia to Luther Franklin and Alverda Cox Davis. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband Clinton Davis in 1959. She is survived by his sister Wanda Springer and her daughter Marjorie Jo Poole both of Statesville, North Carolina.

She is also survived by her husband Ralph N. Morris of Galax, Virignia; daughter and son-in-law Judy and Norman Adcock of Carrboro, North Carolina; grandchildren David Adcock and Rebecca Wells; great-grandchildren Elena Adcock and Will Adcock; sister Ruth Boone of Galax, Virignia; brothers-in-law and spouses Jeff and Doris Morris of Galax, Virginia; Harry and Betty Lou Morris of Kingsport, Tennessee; sister-in-law Sue Pearson of Baltimore, Maryland; niece Jean Alderman; nephew Ralph Boone.

The funeral service will be held Sunday, October 16, 2011 at 3:00 PM in the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Richard Gregory and Rev. Michael Morris officiating. Burial will follow in the Monta Vista Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday from 2:00 PM until time for the service at the First United Methodist Church.
