Mary Burnett McKenzie age 95 of Galax, Virginia passed away Tuesday, February 5, 2019 in the Grayson Nursing and Rehab Center.

Mrs. McKenzie was born in Grayson County, Virginia on April 7, 1923 to Chester and Emma Leona Redd Burnett. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Grover McKenzie.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Grover and Brenda McKenzie of Independence, Virginia; one grandson Randy McKenzie; two great-grandchildren Katie McKenzie and Zachary McKenzie; several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held Thursday at 4:30 PM in the McKenzie Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday from 3:00 PM until 4:00 PM at the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home. The family respectfully request in lieu of flowers donations be made to the Independence Rescue Squad.
