Mary M. McCoy, 82, of Galax passed away at Waddell Nursing Home, Galax, Virginia on Thursday March 26, 2015. Mrs. McCoy was born in Ashe County, North Carolina on November 16, 1932 to the late George and Flossie Hamm Woods.


Mrs. McCoy is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law: Nancy and Gerald McBride of Welch, West Virginia; Linda and Kenny Vanover of Galax, Virginia; Betty and Randall Lewis of West Jefferson, North Carolina ; three grandsons: Jerry McBride, Glen McBride, Jason Lane; two granddaughters: Lisa Hall and Angie Lane; three great grandson Cory Lineberry, Jacob Hall, Chase Lane; four great granddaughters Nikki McBride, Meghan McBride, Kayla McBride, and Hannah Lane; two brothers Cotton Wood of Elkton, Maryland and Marshall Wood of Rising Sun, Maryland.

The funeral service will be held Monday, March 30th, 2015 at 1:00 PM at the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Gerald McBride and Bruce Wood officiating. Interment will follow in the City Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:30 AM until time for the service at the funeral home.
