Mary Ann King, 71, of Galax passed away Monday, January 19, 2009, at Twin County Regional Hospital, Galax. She was born in Grayson County August 22, 1937 to Hurley Elton Goad and Nana Gaye Crigger Goad.

Mrs. King is survived by her husband Claude King of the home; sons & daughters-in-law Allen & Marcie King, Galax; Michael and Kelly King of Woodlawn; Coty & Alane King of Galax; sisters and brothers-in-law: Jane & Ray Wiggins of Belmont, NC; Sandra & Freeman Holder of Dobson, NC; grandchildren & spouses Dustin & Rachel King of Woodlawn; Josh & Leigh Ann King of Galax; Brandon King of Galax; Andy Lawson of Woodlawn; and Allena King of Galax. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

The funeral service will be held Thursday January 22, 2009 in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel at 2:00 PM with Rev. Sidney Beamer officiating. Interment will follow in the Galax City Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday Janaury 21, 2009 from 7 until 9 PM at the funeral home.
