Mary Frances Hanks Jones age 76 of Galax, Virginia passed away Thursday, November 20, 2025 in the Waddell Nursing and Rehab Center.

Mary was born on December 15, 1948 in Galax, Virginia to Albert Wesley and Frances Elizabeth Frazier Hanks. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Randy Jones and a sister Edith Whitaker.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Ronnie and Tina Bowers; daughter and son-in-law Shelia and Jeff Sizemore all of Galax, Virginia; sisters and brother-in-law Rita and David Lowe; Joyce Hiatt; Sandy Richardson; brothers and sisters-in-law Michael Hanks; Steve and Lori Hanks; Tony Hanks; David and Michelle Hanks; five grandchildren Melissa Bowers (Charmian) of Chicago, Illinois; Allison Bowers of Richmond, Virginia; Jessica Bowers; Michael Taylor (Alyssa) of Ivanhoe, Virginia; Justin Taylor (Erin) ; eight great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; honorary family Beth Conley.

The funeral service will be held Sunday at 2:00 PM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Chaplain Joyce McKenzie officiating. Burial will follow in the McKenzie Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday from 1:00 PM until time for the funeral service at the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
