Mary Irene Mallory age 89 of Fries, Va. passed away Friday, January 25, 2008 at Waddell Nursing Home. Mrs. Mallory was born on July 19, 1918 in Grayson County, Va. to Stephen Arthur & Mallie Roberts Mason. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Roscoe Wright Mallory; son & daughter-in-law Kerry Dean & Norma Jean Mallory; sister Blanche Mason Parks; brothers Dewey Mason, Willie G. Mason & John J. Mason. She is survived by her grandchildren & their spouse Chris & Tabitha Mallory of Mt. Airy, N.C.; Brandi & McCrae Nickelston of Lawsonville, N.C.; sister Maude Mason Funk of Galax, Va.; brothers & sisters-in-law Granville & Ilene Mason; Grady & Jeanette Mason all of Fries, Va.; sisters-in-law Barbara R. Mason of Fries, Va.; Teresa Mason of Galax, Va.; several nieces & nephews. The funeral service will be held Monday, January 28, 2008 at 2:00 pm in Summerfield United Methodist Church with Rev. Jackie Poe officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday from one until service time at Summerfield United Methodist Church.
