Mary Hattilene Combs age 86 of Galax, Virginia passed away Thursday, September 20, 2012 in the Twin County Regional Hospital.

Mrs. Combs was born in Grayson County, Virginia on September 28, 1925 to J.Tom and Nancy Elizabeth Liddle Dixon. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Clarence Combs.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law J. Thomas and Wanda Wilson of McLeansville, North Carolina; step-daughter and husband Louise and Victor Joines of Greensboro, North Carolina; step-son and wife Eugene and Nancy Combs of Galax, Virginia; grandchildren and spouses Shawna and Dennis Hamlett of Burlington, North Carolina; Zac and Terra Wilson of Shelbyville, Tennessee; four great-grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; six step-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Saturday, September 22, 2012 at 4:00 PM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Pastor Ronnie Brewer and Pastor James Howell officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Vale Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 2:00 PM until time for the funeral service at Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to The Gideons International, P.O. Box 614 Galax, Virginia 24333.
