Mary Lou Frieze, 79, of Sparta, NC passed away Thursday, February 3, 2011 at North Carolina Baptist Hospital, Winston-Salem, NC. Mary Lou was born March 19, 1931 in Alleghany County to Paul Miles and Verdie Stamper Miles. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by husbands: Herbert Edwards and Walter Frieze; sister Nancy Royal; brothers Wade Miles and Bill Miles and her brothers who died in World War II Vernon Miles & Jim Miles.

Mary Lou is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law: Paula Money of Advance, NC; Pam & Doug Hoke of Ennice, NC; Pattie & Mike Tidwell of Maryville, Tennessee; one son and daughter in-law: Phil and Beverly Edwards of Ennice, NC; two sisters Peggy Grizzell and Patsy Wyatt both of Sparta; one brother Tom Miles of Statesville, NC. Also surviving are 12 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and several nieces & nephews.

The family will receive friends Sunday, February 6, 2011 from 4 pm until 8 pm at the New Covenant Church in Ennice, North Carolina. The funeral service will be held Monday, February 7, 2011 at 2:00 PM at the church with Pastor Phil Edwards officiating. Interment will follow in the Rich Hill Cemetery, Glade Valley.
