Mary Marie Robinson Fortner age 86 of Sparta, North Carolina passed away Sunday October 9, 2022 in Sparta, North Carolina.

Mrs. Fortner was born in Carroll County, Virginia on March 2, 1936 to Clarence and Stella Cagle Robinson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Wesley Conrad Fortner and a granddaughter Stephanie Smith.

She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law Lisa and Wade Brown of Galax, Virginia; son and daughter-in-law Lee and Connie Fortner of Sparta, North Carolina; sisters Nancy Sizemore of Dobson, North Carolina; Ruth Robinson of Woodlawn, Virginia; Wilma Haga of Galax, Virginia; brother Harold Robinson of Galax, Virginia; three grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; special great-grandson Giovanni Lopez; several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held Thursday at 2:00 PM in the McKenzie Cemetery with Pastor Junior Bullion officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday from 12:30 PM until 1:30 PM at the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
