THIS IS A COURTESY ANNOUNCEMENT

Mary Darlene "Dot" Williams Anders, born and raised in Cripple Creek, Va. and a 1961 Rural Retreat High School graduate, joined her son, Rodney,at the feet of Jesus on Tuesday,July 26, 2011 at 4:20 in the afternoon. She is our cherished wife, mama, nana, sister, and friend.

She was a devoted, faithful, minister's wife for forty years. She truly considered her role to be an honor and was most at ease when giving a listening ear to the one who needed her at that moment. She touched the lives of many and her love will live in the hearts of her family and church family.

Although she was physically wasting away, Mama reminded us daily of this, "Goodness and mercies follow me all the days of my life" and "The Battle is HIS!"

She has left to cherish her memory her husband of 50 years, Jerry; her son, Brad; her daughter, Tonya; her granddaughter, Chelsey; and her grandson, Christopher. She is also survived by four sisters; Glenna (Robert) Henley, Shirley (Ted) Anders, Eva Crockett, and Frances (Edward) Yonce.

The family will receive friends at Oakey's East Chapel, 5188 Cloverdale Road, Roanoke, Va. on Saturday, July 30, 2011 from 2 to 4 PM with "a celebration of her life at 4PM. Interment will be Sunday, July 31, 2011 at 11AM in Monta Vista Memorial Gardens, Galax, Va..

She has fought a good fight. She has finished her course. She has kept the faith.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The Church of God, Mission Fund, 160 Royce Road, Troutville, Va. 24175.
