Mary Lee Dickens' Obituary
Mary Lee Dickens passed away peacefully on Friday, April 13, 2012, at Waddell Rehab and Nursing Home in Galax, Virginia.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 66 years, Cecil Dickens. She also leaves two sons and daughters-in-law: Shane & Brenda Dickens of Richmond, VA and Michael & Sue Dickens of Woodlawn, VA.; sisters Nona Faye Cooley of Galax, Virginia and Ruth Richardson of Delaware. In addition she had 4 grandchildren, 4 step-grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, and 10 step-great-grandchildren.
Mary Lee made the decision several years ago to donate her body to science in hopes that her passing would benefit others.
A Celebration of Life Ceremony will be held at 11:00A.M., Saturday, April 28, 2012, at Oakland Methodist Church. Friends and family may call at the home or attend the memorial service.
Special thanks are extended to the staff at Waddell Rehab & Nursing Home, Southwest VA Home Health Care, and Sabrina Savage. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Twin County Hospice, P.O. Box 106, Galax, VA 24333.
