Mary Katherin Bryant Martin, age 77, passed away April 9, 2014 at her home. She was born in Fries, Virginia on September 2, 1936 to the late Raymond Jacob Bryant and Mary Ada Crowder Bryant. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers Herman Bryant and Billy Bryant.

She is survived by her husband Arthur "Red" Martin and her daughters Traci Pierce and her husband Earl D. Pierce, Jr. and Heather Shaffner all of Fries, Virginia; four grandchildren Ivory Pierce of Fortuna, California; Autumn Pierce, Kristin Shaffner and Logan Shaffner all of Fries, Virginia; two sisters: Avery Bond of Fries and Peggy Richardson and husband Tommy of Salem, Virginia; two sisters-in-laws: Joan Higgins and husband Jim of Baywood, Virginia and Nadine Reedy of Dublin, Virginia. Several nieces and nephews also survive as well as special friend Polly Brooms.

The funeral service will be held Sunday, April 13, 2014 at 2:00 PM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Rev. Lee Thomas and Rev. Bob Adams officiating. Burial will follow in the Fries Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until service time at the funeral home.
