Mary Ruth Bryant age 74 of Galax, Va. passed away Wednesday, October 4, 2006 in Roanoke Memorial Hospital. She was born in Carroll County, Va. on September 8, 1932 to the late Whitfield and Alice Stuart Padgett. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a sister, Wilma Burnett. She is survived by her husband Gordon Bryant of Galax, Va.; daughters and son-in-law, Faye & Allen Farmer of Galax, Va; Ruth Ann Bryant of Wytheville, Va.; sisters and brothers-in-law, Wanda & Joe Lineberry; Dorothy & Ivan Robinson; Brenda & Gary Hill all of Woodlawn, Va.; Alice & Harold Hill of Galax, Va.; Fay Calfee of Richmond, Va.; brothers and sister-in-law, Ralph Padgett of Woodlawn, Va.; Ted & Barbara Padgett of Galax, Va.; Charles Padgett of Independence, Va.; and a brother-in-law, James Burnett of Galax, Va.. Two grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive. The funeral service will be held Saturday, October 7, 2006 at 11:00 AM in Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Russell Payne and Sammy Burnette officiating. Burial will follow in Coulson Cemetery. The family will recevie friends Friday evening from seven until nine at Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
