Mary Helen Grinnell Bridges age 91 of Galax, Virginia passed away Wednesday, February 25,2009 in Waddell Nursing Home. Mrs. Bridges was born on April 3, 1917 in Wythe County, Va. to Henry A. & Kathleen Gillman Grinnell. She is survived by her daughters & son-in-law Nancy Lowe of Galax, Va.; Pat & Billy Evans of Sparta, N.C.; sister June Leonard of Galax, Va.; seven grandchildren Barry A. Lowe, Steven Fox Lowe, Timothy Ramey, Tony Ramey, Sherry Hash, Lisa Ramey & Penny Evans; twelve great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; several nieces & nephews. The funeral service will be held Friday, February 27, 2009 at 1:00 pm in Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Rev. Vinton Quesenberry officating. Burial will follow in Galilee Christian Church Cemetery in Wytheville, Va.. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from seven until nine at Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
