Mary Ruth Bowers Tate's Obituary
Mary Ruth Bowers Tate, 65, of Austinville, Virginia passed away Wednesday December 26, 2012 at the home of her son. Mary was born Saturday August 16 1947 in Carroll County, Virginia to the late Sherman John Bowers and Dorothy Hazel Burnette Bowers. In addition of her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband George Edmon Tate.
She is survived by her son and daughter- in- law Richard and Sonya Tate of Austinville; granddaughter Erin Raye Tate; two sisters Frances Mabe and Sue Phillips both of Galax; brother and sister-in-law Buford and Milda Bowers also of Galax, Virginia. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
The funeral service will be held Friday, December 28, 2012 at 2:00 PM in the Hebron Church of Christ with Sammy Burnette and Billy Burnette officiating. Burial will follow in the Lineberry Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6 until 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
Flowers will be appreciated or memorials may be made in Mary's memory to St. Jude's' Children's Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105
