Marvin Claude McKinnon, age 80, of Galax, VA died Thursday, Dec. 17, 2009 at the Twin County Regional Hospital.

He was born Nov. 17, 1929 in Grayson County, VA to Carl & Edith Poole McKinnon,

Mr. McKinnnon is survived by his wife, Imogene Burris McKinnon of Galax, daughters & sons-in-law, Pansy & Jerry Farris, Kernersville, NC, Becky & Allen Shaw, Hillsville, sons, David McKinnon, Woodlawn, Randy McKinnon and Doug McKinnon both of Galax, sisters & brothers-in-law, Edna & Floyd Sexton, and Frances & Jack Casstevens, all of Mt. Airy, NC, ten grandchildren, three great grandchildren, and several nieces & nephews.

Funeral service will be held Monday, Dec. 21, 2009 at 11:00 AM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with burial in the Summerfield UMC Cemetery. The Rev. Rodney Christman and the Rev. Bob Adams officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 - 8 PM Sunday at the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home. Military rites will be performed by the Hillsville VFW Post # 1115.
