Marvin Richard Hale age 87 of Galax, Va. passed away Wednesday, September 3, 2008 in Grayson Nursing & Rehab Center. Mr. Hale was born on December 24,1920 in Wythe County, Va. to Gordon & Cleo Southern Hale. He is survived by his wife Annie Ruth Hale of Galax, Va.; daughter & son-in-law Juanita & Tex J. Brown of Hillsville, Va.; son & daughter-in-law Marvin Conley & Reba Hale of Galax, Va.; sisters Helen Church of Greensboro, N.C.; Della Crouse of Frederick, Md.; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren. The funeral service will be held Friday, September 5, 2008 at 3:00 pm in the First Christian Church with Carl Bean and James Bucky Cox officiating. Burial will follow in Monta Vista Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from seven until nine at Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
