Marvin Lee Gilley, 65, of Galax, Virginia passed away at Sunday, December 17 at his home. He was born in Patrick County, Virginia on January 14, 1941 to Riley Pete Gilley and Eldean Odell Gilley.

He is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law: Jeff Gilley of Mooresville, NC; Jimmy & Beth Gilley of Galax, VA, six sisters: Inez Hollandsworth and Marie White both of Bassett; Dorothy Via of Collinsville; Barbara Moore and Hazel Gilley of Martinsville, Virginia; and Judy Nester of Rocky Mount, VA; a brother: Paul Gilley of Bassett, 3 grandchildren also survive. Mr. Gilley was preceded in death by his parents Riley & Eldean Gilley, two sisters Ethel Fulcher and Deboroah Gilley, and one brother Jesse Gilley.

The family will receive friends Monday evening from 7 until 9 at Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home in Galax. The funeral service will be held Tuesday at 2:00 PM at the Haven of Rest Bible Church on Edmonds Road with Dr. Mark Smith, Rev. Keith Ledford, and Rev. Zane Fishel officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
