Martin David Ritchie, Jr., age 88, passed away March 13, 2017 in Forsyth Medical Center, Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Mr. Ritchie was born February 10, 1929 in Blackstone, Virginia to the late Martin David Ritchie, Sr. and Susan Adell Adcock Ritchie.

He is survived by his wife Agnes Coburn Ritchie of the home; daughter and son-in-law Susan Marie and Michael A. Barron, Sr. of Waterford, Virginia; son and daughter-in-law David and Sharon Ritchie of Galax; grandchildren and spouses: Erin and Kevin Burcham, Mathew and Emily Ritchie, Michael Barron, JR. and Callie Barron; great granddaughter Madelyn Burcham; sister Patricia Umbaugh of Burlington, North Carolina and brother-in-law Irby Moncure. Nine nieces and nephews also survive.

The funeral service will be held Thursday, March 16, 2017 at 2:00 PM in the First United Methodist Church, Galax, Virginia with Rev. Richard Gregory officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until service time at the church.

A graveside service will be held Friday, March 17, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Lakeview Cemetery, Blackstone, Virginia.
