Peacefully from his favorite seat on the front porch Marshall Patterson Thomas age 75, passed from this world and on to his heavenly home on July 11, 2024. He was originally from the Shawsville and Christiansburg areas and currently resided in Galax.

Marshall was preceded in death by his father, Ira Thomas, mother, Anie Walters Thomas, brothers Alfred and Matt Thomas, and special nephew Tommy Stump. Left to cherish his memory are his wife June Moye Thomas, daughter, Vikki Branscome (Greg), son MT Thomas, step-sons, Chet Jennelle (Myra) and John Jennele, sisters Rachel Wood, Maybelle Ashworth, and Karen "Korene" Thompson (RJ) as well as numerous nieces, nephews, step-grandchildren, neighbors and friends.

He attended Shawsville High School and previously worked for the Eaton Corporation in Salem and Southstar Corporation in Elliston. Marshall loved the Lord and was a member of the Galax First Assembly of God. He was a kind man of few words and a very tender heart. He cared deeply for all those he loved and will be greatly missed by all those who loved him.

The Thomas Family is being served by Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home. A visitation will be held on Monday, July 15th from 12-1pm at the Galax First Assembly of God followed by a service conducted by Pastor Curtis Christian. A private burial service will follow at Sunset Cemetery in Christiansburg.
