Faith Higgins Nichols age 80 of Wytheville, Virginia and formerly of Galax, Va. passed away Thursday, October 5, 2006 in Wythe County Community Hospital. She was born in Grayson County, Va. on January 13, 1926 to the late Carl Jackson and Violet Edwards Higgins. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Emmett Lee Nichols. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Susan & Bobby Shaw of Sparta, N.C.; sons and daughter-in-law, Paul Nichols of Galax, Va.; Ronald & Sherree Nichols of Pulaski, Va.; sister, June Smith of Ridgeway, Va.; brother and sister-in-law, Jack & Betty Higgins of Clemmons, N.C.; four grandchildren; one great-grandson; three step-grandchildren; five step-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survie. Extended family includes Dan, Jackie & Sydney Duncan. The funeral service will be held Sunday, October 8, 2006 at 3:00 PM at Savannah United Methodist Church with Rev. Rick Lindamood and Rev. Hugh Kilgore officiating. Burial will follow in Coal Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon from two until three before the service at the church. In lieu of flowers the family request contributions be made to Savannah United Methodist Church.
