Marie Lineberry Dixon age 79 of Galax, Va. passed away Saturday morning, September 15, 2007 in Twin County Regional Hospital. Mrs. Dixon was born in Carroll County, Va. on August 11, 1928 to Willie Monroe & Florence Alura Hollandsworth Lineberry. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband John Catron Dixon. She is survived by her daughter Brenda Amburn of Galax, Va.; sons & daughters-in-law Johnny & Linda Dixon; Billy & Jama Dixon all of Galax, Va.; Jim & Michele Dixon of Hillsville, Va.; Freddy & Shirley Dixon of Fries, Va.; sister Edith Sexton of Fries, Va.; ten grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; several nieces & nephews and a host of friends. The funeral service will be held Monday, September 17, 2007 at 2:00 PM in Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Brother Dale Akers and Brother Tim Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the Dixon Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from seven until nine at Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to the Amierican Red Cross.
