Marie Blevins Carey age 93 of Galax, Virginia passed away Thursday, September13, 2018 in the Waddell Nursing and Rehab Center.

Mrs. Carey was born in Virginia on March 26, 1925 to James B. and Flora Abbie Davis Blevins. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband John E. Carey.

She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law Dawn and Billy Boyd of Ararat, Virginia; son and daughter-in-law John and Polly Carey of Galax, Virginia; sister Shirley Carico of Galax, Virginia; brother and sister-in-law Dennis and Joyce Blevins of Ivanhoe, Virginia; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held Friday at 2:00 PM in the St. Peters Lutheran Cemetery in Cripple Creek with the Rev. Ray Bolen officiating. There will be no visitation at the funeral home.
