Margie Winesett Worrell Lundy age 95 of Galax, Virginia passed away Wednesday, February 16, 2011 in the Waddell Nursing Home.

Mrs. Lundy was born on December 15, 1915 in Carroll County, Virginia to Oscar Blaine and Besse Landreth Winesett. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Ray Monroe Lundy.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Jean Worrell Akers and C.G. of Galax, Virginia; grandchildren and spouse Lynn and Larry Hawks; Wiley Mac Akers; great-grandchildren and spouse Heather and Randy Donavant; Justin Akers and Chelsea Akers; great-great-grandchild Chase Donavant; sisters and brother-in-law Mary Lee Combs of Fayetteville, North Carolina; June and Everette Sumner of Quarryville, Pennsylvania; several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held Saturday, February 19, 2011 at 11:00 AM in the Coulson Cemetery with Rev. Kevin Fiorini and Rev. Randy Morris officiating. The family will receive friends Friday evening from six until eight at Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to either the First Christian Church in Galax or the Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church Building Fund in Galax.
