Margaret Anne O'Connor, age 33 of Independence, Virginia passed away Saturday, November 8, 2025 at her home.

Margaret was born in Williamson, West Virginia on March 17, 1992, to Christopher Patrick and Susan Frances Maunsell O'Connor.

"Meg was chatty, dramatic, and loved to laugh. Her extensive DVD collection was largely made up of romances, and Downton Abbey and Bridgeton were beloved favorites of hers. Every year for her birthday, she went to a movie or a play or once, the ballet-and she would start planning the outing with decision months in advance. She dearly loved dogs and usually had three standard poodles sleeping with her every night; she named all of the family cats after Jane Austen characters. Most of all she loved being an aunt to her niece and nephew and would often read them stories. She was a devoted friend, a dedicated church member, and a dear soul, and she will be missed.

In addition to her parents of Independence, Virginia she is survived by two sisters Kathleen McDaniel (John T.)  of Albany, New York; Eileen O'Connor of Salem, Virginia; two brothers John O'Connor of Independence, Virginia; Chris O'Connor, Jr. (Abby Knowles) of Fort Worth, Texas; one niece Julia McDaniel and one nephew Henry McDaniel both of Albany, New York; many aunts and uncles.

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, November 15th at 11:00 AM in the Galax Presbyterian Church with Dr. Tom Whartenby officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 10 AM until the time of the service. lieu of flowers, the family respectfully request donations be made to your local Humane Society or animal shelter.
