Margaret Marie Hackler, age 99, of Galax, Virginia passed away Saturday, March 16, 2019 at Waddell Nursing and Rehab Center. She was born in Grayson County, Virginia on June 29, 1919 to the late Charles Raleigh and Sally Alma Funk Kinzer. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 72 years Dr. John W. Hackler;  siblings Geneva Robinson, Hattie Mae Cline, Jay Kinzer, Rev. Kyle Kinzer, Cecil Kinzer, and John Kinzer.

Margaret is survived by son and daughter-in-law Earl Dean and Betty Hackler of Independence, Virginia; grandchildren and spouses Anita Ruth and Duane Love, DeAnna and Mike Hash, Michael Dean and Elaine Hackler; great-grandchildren and spouses Philip Michael and Carolyn Gardner Hash, Erick Duane and Eden Love, Scarlett and Matthew Hopkins, and Robert Dylan and Kayla Hackler. Also surviving are five great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Wednesday March 20, 2019 at 3:00 PM in Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Rev. Ben Haga and Rev. Darren Kinzer officiating. Burial will follow in Monta Vista Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 2:00 PM until time of the service at Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home or at the home anytime of her son. Flowers will be appreciated or donations may be made to the Fries Fire Department and Rescue Squad; Grace Baptist Church Parking Lot Pavement Project or the Twin County Hospice. A meal will be served at Grace Baptist Church after the service and food may be brought to the church.
