Margaret Grace (Peggy) Williams, 88, of Galax, passed away on Sunday August 26, 2018.

She was a graduate of Galax High School and Radford University and taught eighth grade for many years at Woodlawn High School.

Peggy was a member of Mt. Vale United Methodist Church where she served as secretary of the church's United Methodist Women chapter.

She was born in Grayson County near Galax on February 4, 1930 and was preceded in death by her parents, Claude and Sina Cooley Williams and one brother, George Williams.

She is survived by one sister, Mildred Williams Wilson, of Galax; one niece, Kay Vest of Roanoke; one nephew, Greg Wilson of Floyd; one great-niece, Kacie Vest of Roanoke.

The family thanks cousins and wives, Roger and Jan Cooley; Jerry and Joyce Cooley and neighbors; Ivan and Mintie Ann Lindsey; and Edna and Duane Holloway, for their kind deeds for Peggy over the years.

The funeral service will be held Wednesday August 29, 2018 at 2:00 PM at Mt. Vale Methodist Church with Rev. David Payne officiating. Burial will follow at Coal Creek Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until time for the funeral service at Mt. Vale Methodist Church.
