Margaret Ethel Branson Hanks, 76, of Greensboro, North Carolina passed away Wednesday, May 29, 2019 at Moses Cone Hospital, Greensboro, North Carolina. Mrs. Hanks was born in Mt. Airy, North Carolina on October 12, 1942 to the James "Willie"  Branson and Ada Jones Branson.  In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her husbands Charles "Rudy" Woods and Buford Hanks.

She is survived by daughter and son-in-law: Marie Woods Hellier & Chris of Elon North Carolina; mother Ada Branson of Mt. Airy, North Carolina; step-daughter and husband: Angie Hanks Lineberry and Robert "Goober" of Woodlawn, Virginia; step-son and wife: Victor Wayne Hanks and wife Sheila of Hillsville, Virginia; sister Bessie Surratt of Mount Airy North Carolina; brothers and sisters-in-law: James Branson and Janet "Von" ; Jerry Branson and Darlene all of Mount Airy, North Carolina; brother-in-law and wife: Cecil and Janet Hanks of Galax, Virginia. Several step -grandchildren; several step great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.  Also surviving are special friends Nancy Delp of Allentown, Pennsylvania and Otis and Blanche Harmon of Woodlawn, Virginia.

The funeral service will be held Sunday, June 2, 2019 at 3:00 PM in the Vaughan Guynn Chapel with Rev. John Canning officiating. Interment will follow in the Oak Grove Community Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until time for the service at the funeral home.
