Mamie Josephine Stroupe Porterfield's Obituary
Mamie Josephine Stroupe Porterfield age 73 of Galax, Virginia passed away Thursday, May 10, 2012 in the Bland County Nursing and Rehab Center.
Mrs. Porterfield was born in Grayson County, Virginia on January 14, 1939 to Alexander B. and Mamie Ellen Jones Stroupe.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Ray Porterfield.
She is survived by her sister Betty Marie Pratt of Cumberland, Rhode Island; brothers William A. (Bill) Stroupe and Franklin Stroupe both of Galax, Virginia; several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held Sunday, May 13, 2012 at 2:00 PM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Rev. Ted Bartlett officiating. Burial will follow in the Monta Vista Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday evening from six until eight at Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
