Major Levie Howell's Obituary
Major L. Howell, 74,of Woodlawn, Virginia passed away Sunday August 3, 2013 in the Waddell Nursing Home, Galax, VA. Major was born March 30, 1939 in Goldsboro, North Carolina to Tom and Sudie Harrison Howell. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, Rev. R. D. Howell.
He is survived by his wife Pauline Howell of the home; step daughter Terri Funk of Woodlawn, Virginia; daughters Debra Parrott and Mejena Howlett; son Jimmy Howell; sisters and brother-in-law Ruth & Dale Chase and Nellie Jackson all of Goldsboro, North Carolina; special niece and husband: Darlene and Clyde Wilson; special nephew Ray Howell, several other nieces and nephews. Nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren also survive.
The funeral service will be held Wednesday, August 7, 2013 at 11:00 AM at the Woodlawn Church of God with burial to follow in the Pickett Cemetery. The officiating ministers are Rev. John Canning and Kenneth Alley. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening August 6, 2013 from 6 until 8 PM at the church.
