Mae L. Brewer age 91 of Independence, Va. passed away Tuesday, July 29, 2008 in Grayson Nursing & Rehab Center. Mrs. Brewer was born on August 2, 1916 in Grayson Co., Va. to Joseph Asbury & Mollie Dell Hampton Luper. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband John E. (Jack) Brewer and son Jimmy Brewer. She is survived by her daughter-in-law Glenda Brewer Forester of Galax, Va.; grandchildren Jamie Brewer & Elena Brewer both of Galax, Va.; sisters-in-law Fay Luper of Fries, Va.; Forest Luper of Ypsilanti, Michigan; several nieces & nephews. The funeral service will be held Wednesday, July 30, 2008 at 3:00 pm In Providence United Methodist Church with Rev. Gloria Lancaster Rhudy officiating. Burial will follow in Providence Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday from two until three at Providence United Methodist Church.
