Mac Donald Ring age 81 of Galax, Virginia passed away Tuesday, March 21, 2017 in the Galax Nursing and Rehab Center.
Mr. Ring was born in Carroll County, Virginia on December 10, 1935 to Frederick C. and Nellie Hanks Ring.
He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law Ruth and Warren Johnson of Galax, Virginia; son and daughter-in-law Allen and Janie Ring of Glade Valley, North Carolina; grandchildren Rachael Harley; Laken Ring; Adam Ring; step-grandsons Douglas Johnson and Matthew Johnson; great-grandchildren Ellen Hartley; Logan Hartley and Zachary Hartley; step-great-grandchildren Arizona Johnson; Dillon Johnson; Cheyenne Johnson and Nickolas Johnson; sister-in-law Brenda Ring of Galax, Virginia; brother-in-law Richard Jennings of Galax, Virginia; several nieces and nephews; several cousins and his beloved dog Dan.
A graveside service will be held Friday, March 24, 2017 at 2:00 PM in the Alex Jennings Cemetery with the Rev. J.D. Bowers officiating. There will be no visitation at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to the family C/O Ruth Johnson 223 Winterberry Road, Galax, Virginia 24333 or to the Alex Jennings Cemetery C/O Gaynell Dillon, 54 Burning Bush Way, Galax, Virginia 24333.
