Mabel E. Caudell Funk age 91 now from Dublin, Virginia and formerly of Galax, Virginia passed away Saturday, March 22, 2014 in the Lewis Gale Medical Center in Salem, Virginia.

Mrs. Funk was born on June 2, 1922 in Ennice, North Carolina to Glenn and Bessie Richardson Evans. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband Keith Caudell and her second husband Jesse Funk; sister Marie Medley Hawks  and brother Rudolph Evans .

She retired as cafeteria manager at Baywood Elementary School many years ago. She was a faithful member of Gladeville United Methodist Church and for the previous three years she attended the First United Methodist Church in Pulaski when her health permitted.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Roger and Linda Caudell of Pulaski, Virginia; grandchildren and spouses Shannon and Natalie Caudell of Pulaski, Virginia; Shawn and Leigh Ann Caudell of Christiansburg, Virginia; four great-grandchildren Jacob, Caitlyn, Wes and Wyatt; several nieces and nephews; many friends.

The funeral service will be held Wednesday at 2:00 PM in the Gladeville United Methodist Church with the Rev. John Grimm and the Rev. Hugh Kilgore officiating Burial will follow in the Crab Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 1:00 until time for the funeral service at the Gladeville United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to the Gladeville United Methodist Church.
